Zaffiro Organica Serum First Impressions

23rd February 2017
Zaffiro Organica Serum First Impressions

Zaffiro Organica reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in trying their products. I like finding small, European brands, and I was quite impressed with their concept and ingredients.

The company was created by two Italian sisters who wanted to create a line of healthy, organic products that were high quality, nature friendly, and especially not tested on animals. Their currently range of products, which are produced in Spain, focus on tissue regeneration, promoting new cell growth, and fighting against skin aging.

Zaffiro Organica products are all free of nasties such as mineral oil products, parabens, phthalates, PEG, dyes, and synthetic perfumes. They currently have three products in their range:

  • Anti-Wrinkle Cream (99% of the total ingredients from natural origin, 20% of the total from Organic Farming)
  • Anti-Wrinkle Serum (99% of the total ingredients from natural origin, 24% of the total from Organic Farming)
  • Eye Contour Cream (99% of the total ingredients from natural origin, 24% of the total from Organic Farming)

Their products are created in an EcoCert certified lab, cruelty free, and they do not and will not sell to countries were animal testing is mandatory (yay!).

I chose to try the Anti-Wrinkle Serum; it had a higher content of organic ingredients, and I’m still on the hunt for a serum I love. I’m not a great lover of oils and am still searching for a product that doesn’t leave an oily feeling on the skin (more like “conventional” products I used to use).

From their website:

“Organic Serum, anti-wrinkle cream with lavender extract possesses a valuable anti-aging action; fighting wrinkles because it promotes the growth of new cells to regenerate tissues. Rebalancing in mixed skin and soothing in sensitive skin. Rich in tomato extract, a true and powerful anti-wrinkle catalyst, thanks to its effective natural antioxidant action. The cucumber is an excellent decongestant, moisturizing for the skin, which helps clarify age spots and fight against sunburn by its soothing action. Finally, olive oil nourishes hydrates and regenerates the deep skin. Zaffiro Organica’s Organic Serum , anti-wrinkle cream, eliminates wrinkles and reduces deep skin. The cream is formulated to combat aging skin, increase its elasticity and strengthen the lipid barrier protection of the skin. Restores, moisturizes, nourishes and regenerates the skin. Recommended for all skin types.”

My first impressions of this product are very positive. I’ve tried a few test patches with no problems; as well as a few applications on my face.

*EDIT*
True INCI (packaging was incorrect, I have spoken with the brand about this): Aqua, Lavandula Angustifolia Flower Water*, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract*, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil*, Phytosqualan, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil*, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil Unsaponifiables, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Sterols, Beta-sitosterol, Tocopherol, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Glycerin, Zea Mays Starch*, Citric Acid, Sodium Carbonate, Sodium PCA, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Xanthan Gum, Ferula Galbaniflua Oil, Citrus Aurantium Oil, Ricinus Communis Oil, Sodium Phytate

I really like these air-free containers, in terms of delivery of product and keeping things hygienic. The pump functions well and easily delivers exactly the amount of product you want.

The consistency is a thicker gel mixed with a light cream texture, I quite like it and it feels very hydrating. It doesn’t leave an oily film on the skin. The scent is pleasant; herbal, but not spicy. Not very fruity, more vegetable-y. Though lavender flower water is one of the main ingredients, don’t be scared, because you can hardly smell it at all.

It absorbs quickly (win!), and feels very hydrating.

Their products are available on their website, as well as through Amazon (in Europe at least) and eligible for Prime delivery.

Have you tried any of Zaffiro Organica products?

Love,
